Fraser was born in Ardrossan in North Ayrshire, on the south west coast of Scotland, in 1958. He is the father of four adult children, and is now retired. He has lived in Bristol, UK since 1987.
He has a background of therapy, admin and information management, and has largely worked in the social services, education and health spheres, mostly within public bodies, or those that were funded from government sources.
Fraser has been using creative writing for his own therapeutic wellbeing since 2003, and has written online within groups and on the Medium platform for many of those years. He is currently a writer for ‘Soul Magazine’ and ‘Read or Die’ on Medium, writing mostly under the ‘Wellbeing’ tag.
He has a Diploma in ‘Creative Writing’ from the University of Bristol, and is currently pursuing an MA in ‘Creative Writing and Wellbeing’ from Teesside University.
Previous academic achievements include a BA in Applied Social Studies, social work and therapy qualifications, a Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Management, and an MSc in Health Information Management.
Fraser is committed to lifelong learning, and aims to focus that mainly around reading and writing. He also listens to lots of music, and is an avid user of Spotify and YouTube as a result.
When he is not doing all of the above, he will most likely be meeting-up with family or friends, hanging-out with neighbours or will be found in the library or the ‘Books for Amnesty’ bookshop.
