The leaking gutter
 which has since been fixed
 leaves a presence behind.
 Of velvet touch and
 hair combed back smoothly,
 her insidious, creeping,
 thickening, presence
 is symptomatic of
 chlorophyll hard at work.

Combined with the legacy of damp
and a bit of warmth from the sun,
 it culminates in the
 photosynthetic processing glory
 of the plant class “musci”
known to the rest of us
 as moss.
