we stumble through
remembering of things
each of us reminding
another of things forgotten
from yesterday
but each having
well-remembered stories
from decades long ago
we niggle and moan
about the health of each
comparing meds and
things no longer managed
mobility, sight and hearing
are usually top of the list
but various chronic conditions
come in at second place
through complaints
and memory loss
there is everlasting comfort
old friends gathering together
remembering those now gone
telling stories of new generations
wishing them the best in life
and comfort of good friends too
