Learning to soar...

The Cold and Dark – I see the snow that isn’t there

I see the snow that isn’t there
it brings back thoughts so dark and mean
the ice persists in soul laid bare

But I have often taken care
to polish memories and make them clean
I see the snow that isn’t there

On seeing snow, I have to stare
at all the things that I have seen
the ice persists in soul laid bare

Eradication is always where
I have sent unwanted scene
I see the snow that isn’t there

But now whilst sat here on my chair
I re-examine all that’s been
the ice persists in soul laid bare

And finally, when gray of hair
and many experiences I have seen
I see the snow that isn’t there
the ice persists in soul laid bare
