and so it is
that people come
and people go
and we have the
briefest time together
in our small lives
and we ourselves
come and then go
in an average span
of 80 years or so
we can do little and
yet still we waste time
technology brings
new friends online
whilst old friends
don’t always adapt
to new realities
or our neglect
generations come
and make progress
or so it is thought
but the next to come
changes many things
but still a thread goes on
our species will last
for a finite time and
then fade away as
others have done
as we forget to
pay attention
