12 April 2026 – I saw Voyagers, a 2021 film, myself at home. In essence, it was like a sci-fi version of Lord of The Flies, although these particular humans had been raised in isolation, specifically for this voyage. Whilst it quickly went wrong, and the potential raised for mayhem, it sort-of fizzled out into a mid-range teen drama, with a small degree of tension. The plot and the ending were fairly predictable, and the acting was not terribly convincing from the largely teenage cast. I was not impressed.
The leading members of the cast were: Colin Farrell, Tye Sheridan and Lily-Rose Depp; and the film was directed by Neil Burger, who also wrote the screenplay. He is better known for Divergent (2014), Limitless (2011) and The Illusionist (2006), so I’m not sure how this one went so off.
I would not recommend this film to anyone else, and I only gave it a score of 4, whilst ‘IMDB’ gave it 5.5 and the ‘Rotten Tomatoes’ score was 2.5 (25%).
