12 January 2026 –  Three of us thoroughly enjoyed Hamnet, two of us describing it as completely absorbing from the beginning, whilst one of our number described it as a bit slow to get going and, whilst not his style of movie, he could appreciate the quality of the production.

For myself, I enjoyed it very much, and I was one who found it completely absorbing, and it produced many tears from me. I consider it to be one of the best movies I have seen with our cinema club.

I was not surprised to see it do so well at the Golden Globes, and have so many nominations for oscars, with what I considered to be an outstanding performance from Jessie Buckley.
